Reconstruction of a classicist chateau and new construction of a covered transport playground in the Riviéra sports complex in Brno.
The playground itself is made up of a network of roads with parameters for cycling. In this space it is possible to induce a number of desired traffic situations. For this purpose, there is also a system of mechanically replaceable vertical traffic signs, which guarantees the variability and universality of the course, and a central control for controlling the light signalling and traffic control.
Electronic test boards are deployed in the areas inside the playground bringing another form of education. The facilities are located in the newly renovated building of the former gym. It consists of an entrance area, a changing room with lockers, social facilities with a department for staff, a storage room for hundreds of bicycles including tools for their possible repair.
The Riviera transport playground is complemented by residential areas with space reserved for the installation of additional trainers and simulators — a simulator for getting out of an overturned vehicle, a crash simulator, a drunk track and other furniture. The building is connected to the building by an outdoor transport playground, which is connected to the indoor playground by raking walls made of tarpaulin during summer operation. In terms of size, it is the largest transport playground in the Czech Republic.
The operation of the building is now used as a space for the theoretical part of the educational programs of transport education and at the same time as an administrative part of the transport education campus.
The symmetrical classicist building with a generous three-arm staircase also contains a multifunctional hall, which in its possibilities of use exceeds the program content of the Transport Education Complex. It also includes organizing social and cultural events. Classrooms, changing rooms and social facilities for visitors and staff follow the main foyer with reception. In the attic we find offices and changing rooms of the municipal police personnel. In the basement there are technical premises and warehouses.
